The Distinguished Pearls Foundation, Inc. turns social action into service, advancing its commitment to food security.

The Distinguished Pearls Foundation, Inc. (DPF) is putting purpose into motion through increased food distribution programming across Prince George’s County. During the first quarter of 2026–2027, the Foundation elevated food insecurity as a priority, connecting its organizational growth to a basic community need: access to food.

These distributions reflect the heart of DPF’s social action work - responding to community needs through direct service. Each distribution offers an opportunity to support households while strengthening the connections that make sustained service possible.

Behind this work is a growing foundation of coordination and stewardship. DPF is managing grants awarded to address food insecurity and establishing a volunteer management framework to support its expanding programming. Together, these efforts help align people, funding, and preparation with the Foundation’s commitment to serving the county.

DPF is also exploring additional grant opportunities for food security and community gardens through its collaboration with the Grants Committee. These considerations build on current distribution efforts and open possibilities for broader community involvement in addressing food access.

As the Foundation moves forward, food distribution remains an expression of its mission in action. Through intentional planning, volunteer engagement, and continued investment in service, DPF is working to bring more than food to the table - it is bringing care, connection, and a commitment to community.
