A Strong Finish, a Confident Start: Community Partners Rally Behind Laurel Seniors - September 25, 2026
High school seniors received support for their next chapter during “Finish Strong – Senior Support Night,” held September 24, 2026, at Laurel High School. The Distinguished Pearls Foundation, Inc., in partnership with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Tau Delta Zeta Chapter and Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated, Patuxent River Chapter, worked to help students and families navigate the transition from high school to college.
The evening offered FAFSA assistance, essay and scholarship support, $250 in book scholarships, and dorm basket raffles. These resources addressed both the preparation and practical needs that accompany college planning, helping seniors move toward graduation and beyond with greater confidence.
City of Laurel Councilwoman Kyla Clark presented each organization with a certificate of appreciation, recognizing their commitment to students and families. “Thank you for always giving back to our youth, their parents, and for investing in the next generation of Laurel leaders,” Clark shared. She described Finish Strong as “a beautiful example of community in action” and celebrated the organizations for showing up consistently for the community.
For DPF and its partners, Finish Strong demonstrated how collaboration can turn encouragement into tangible support. By bringing guidance, resources, and community care together, the evening helped students prepare for a strong finish - and a promising new beginning.
